Project “Mapping of bridges” run by Stiftung Pro Lutra, Switzerland

Many otters die in road traffic when they try to cross streets. This often happens where rivers and streets get together. Unsuitable bridges tempt otters to leave the rivers and walk over the road. Therefore the Stiftung Pro Lutra intends to map all the bridges in Switzerland on her self created app to see which bridges could be dangerous for otters. After recording the bridges, all communities in Switzerland have access to the data of the bridges and can seek advice about construction measures by the Stiftung Pro Lutra. 

How can we all help? By downloading the app “Untendurch” and recording as many bridges in Switzerland as possible. It is super simple: Choose your location, name the bridge, choose the shape of the bridge and upload a picture. Done:) Don’t worry, the app will lead you through these steps.
